Welcome to the Amiga Angels database. This version is a simple text file, so you can load it into any word processor or text editor and use that program search facility to look for town names, or topics with which you need help. Of course it is early days at the moment so you might be better off looking through the list manually. When sending in your details, it would be best (for me, at least) if you could follow the given pattern. Also, I'm not too keen on printing people's addresses and giving away just how much equipment you own in case unscrupulous crims are reading this list, so phone numbers or email addresses would be better. If you don't want the phone ringing at all hours of day and night, then make sure you put times at which you would be happy to receive calls from desperate Amiga owners. If the details given here aren't correct, or could do with updating (a particular favourite would be to give the area you live in if you are only providing email or phone details) then please send email to ben.vost@futurenet.co.uk with the subject Amiga Angels. Last, but definitely not least, thank you all for volunteering your services. Name: AmigaSoc UK email: helpdesk@uk.amigasoc.org web: http://uk.amigasoc.org Notes: If sending email, make sure you include details for your machine in your problem description, or simply use the website form. "The AmigaSoc helpdesk uses the combined knowledge of all the members of QMW AmigaSoc and AmigaSoc UK, primarily through their mailing list of Amiga experts. We aim to help Amiga people get around any problems they may have, however trivial. AmigaSoc UK would like to put something back into the Amiga community, and so we are pleased to say that we charge nothing for this service." --- Name: Marc Forrester Phone: Plymouth (01752) 491960 EMail: mharr7@hotmail.com (Cybercafé access only - phone is more reliable) Amiga: WinUAE/Picasso96, pending a Boxer system (The A1200 blew its IDE with financially poor timing) Expertise in: AmigaOS use, customisation and troubleshooting Internet rites, excluding AmiTCP setup PPaint (NB: I can't draw) Have installed MultiUserFileSystem Blitz Basic 2.1 AMOS (Formerly) Installing WinUAE/Picasso96 Notes: I've written a few command line programs to rescale IFF pictures/brushes for NewIcons, AmigaStart pictures, and suchlike. I get my emails most weekends and reply almost straight away. You may have to wait a week for a reply, or two at a push, but normally it'll be on your desk on Monday morning! I'm never happy - I'll spend weeks on a program then go onto something else and give up on the old one, then maybe come back 5 years later and create 7-Pin Bowling or something like that... --- Name: Gareth "Gaz" Murfin email: gazy@globalnet.co.uk Amiga : A1200Tg Power Amiga with a BlizzardPPC 060/50 Mhz & 603e+/240 Mhz (82.5 MIPS + 338.4 MIPS = 421 Total MIPS).
